For those old, afraid to die alone, And the sons and daughters of broken homes, Who care for others more than themsleves, And they play the cards that they've been dealt. Who've taken the chance, and paid the cost, Or have carried the caskets of the ones they've lost. For the faithless man, whose hope has died, Whose addicted to the substance, and believes its lies. And the story behind the hidden scars, That broke the young and fragile hearts. And for the artist...who will die with and for the dream that he has spent his whole life chasing after. My friends, these are the rocks in our bodies.

The sky is falling as we wage our war with Wall Street. You indulge in the facade, there's talk of promise in the air. While we're standing at the pumps. Filling up on politics. From generation to generation, anticipating conversation. You're silence is toxic; you're the heart of the disease. Does the truth draw you closer to the edge of your seat? No. Not a soul will raise their voice above a whisper tonight, Because our actions speak louder than our words do. So just stand there with your arms folded, And I hope your entertained. Strictly business; blood for the barrel. And some are only getting eighteen fucking years to the gallon. Well, I think we're running on empty. What do we have to prove? Give me some inspiration. No, don't you take on step further. Just when you thought it was over. And we believe that we have everything, but we have nothing. And we believe that we know everything, but we know nothing.

Feeling all the words that are spoken, Lifting up the drunk, and the broken. May this song let the dead be awoken. Leave the light on. Leave the light on. Now as all the birds begin to linger, And these strings Upon my dirty fingers. Me, and my friends, all a bunch of swingers. Can you hear me, Can you hear me. Not another word, Don't you make a sound. Doin' all you can just to weigh us down. Still, we find a way to scream and shout. Til' my dying breath, we will sing. Til' my dying day, no don't you lean on me. This is what keeps my heart beating. No one can take away this feeling. If it's this that they're stealing. So call them, So call them. You can laugh, and you can taunt me. I'll still be here. Holding up the lonely. Won't give in to the bullshit. When you sing it, Sing it like you mean it. Not another word, Don't you make a sound. When I needed you the most you just turned around, And pretended not to hear me scream. Til' my dying breath, we will sing. Til' my dying day, no don't you lean on me. And I won't be afraid, you can hate what I've made, And I wont take no for an answer. So do me a favor. And walk out the door. And laugh at me with all your friends. Now that we are all hear together, We can dance and sing here Forever. Even through the worst of endeavors. Til' my dying breath, we will sing. Til' my dying day, no don't you lean on me.

Oh where, Oh where art thou my love? Alas, I am alone. Concealed, obscure, but rendered pure. My blood upon the rose. The trees are dressed in decadence. Stripped bare from limb to bone. And I am but a Siren's fool whose heart has turned to stone. I have a strong distaste of last nights mistakes polluting my tongue this morning. From getting drunk and telling lies. There's a girl in the bed, her clothes on the ground, She aint Mrs. right, she's just Ms. right now, And I resent her as she sleeps. It was the sky, the stars, the way that she kissed me, The beer, the rum, the gin and the whiskey, And the haunting fear of being alone. I got a bloody nose, and an empty bag, to accompany my empty heart. Are we plastic? Are we mannequins? I am so torn. As we howl at the moon, and curse the gods that we don't believe in, Smashing our ashes like glass into caskets, still waiting. So I'll inhale the blue-black cold, and hide my face behind my hands. Cause they mold the dark where I am safe. I've kept these dreams a secret, of taking flight and finding meaning In this world and in my bleeding. I blow my kisses to the pavement. Bingeing the beast of our towered thoughts, Stitching tall tales and steep tongues, Ever twisted and entangled in the fabric of the night. We are still, we are still, we are still waiting. I am so torn. As we howl at the moon, and curse the gods that we don't believe in, Smashing our ashes like glass into caskets, still waiting. So if you are a wretch like me you know this all too well. These rocks in our bodies will fail us someday. Pull out his eyes, pull out his eyes. Apologize.

Searching is a meal served in gut-busting courses. A faint hearted artist. Abstract. Watch me bend. I'm reaching, I'm learning. To deal with being lonely. Hurry, hurry up and wait. Coffee calms and stimulates my nerves for today. It's fake sleep for the sleeples, Cause fear keeps me awake. And dreaming is not an option So I'll settle for just being alive. Winter's relentless just to give up the cold, And make way for the Spring And give birth to the life. That summer is coming. The ocean waters, soon, shall dance with the shore. Better off at best, just go stag, Watch me run. A better son for mother But a better man for one. I'm not worthy of your waters, Lord. So I'm just gonna walk on the ground. A race for the arms. Destruction's a threat. The only arms I race for are the ones around my friends. I'll burn like a cigarette, ash me when I'm damned. I'm not cut out for this campaign, but I'll do the best I can. Brace myself for impact and barricade the doors. Run with the basement saints of our town. They're brothers in the storm. Here's news on the hearsay, we've been here all along. Your dead streets, You're dead people. We're still going strong. So tell Shaina I'm a haunted man. The blues have got me down. They stirred my soul, and boiled my blood, and ran me outa' town. I long to read your letters, cause your words, they bring me peace. So save me a seat by the moon. Unending, wild nights shall fill our drinks. It moves us just to feel our fingers sing. I'll swim with you and never let you sink. These fever tones will never let us sleep.

Rest my head where my feet have stumbled. The dunes, Where I escape from this concrete jungle. The driftwood washed up on the shores from the ocean. Convicted and afflicted when I'm runnin' on emotion. The obstruction down the street contains their voices sreaming Loudly. The brutality remembered by the scars covering my body. The aftershock of diggin' on the thought of "one and only" The breeze, Kickin' the wreathes around. They tell me when I'm lonely. In my fear of the unknown, can't spit out my words right. Stars, guiding the way, in the absence of the daylight. From the top, to the rock bottom, A constant in my story, Huggin' on the toilet basking in my morning glory. Where we walk, we can never walk again. Where we run, we can never run again. Where we've hidden, we can never hide again. I've got a home. Here. With the rogues. At sixteen I'm going. At nineteen I'm gone. Painted are the pictures of the crazy getting saner. Covering the pallet are the colors of my anger. Haunted by the ghosts of the living, dead and buried. The tide is coming in, and I'm gettin' kinda worried. Memories from the summer. When the thunder isn't rollin'. Depicted is the imagery of sand between your toes, And then on down the road, Where the selfishness of those meet, The egos of the jerks that are surfing down on First Street. Why can't we just lift up each other? It's going in one ear, and it's headed out the other. Party in our youth instead of fillin' it with sorrow. Living every day. Like we're gonna die tomorrow. Where we walk, we may never walk again. Where we run, we may never run again. Where we've hidden, we may never hide again. I've got a home. Here. With the rogues. At sixteen I'm going. At nineteen I'm gone.

These pieces are broken, they are not buried. We bar our windows, we are so empty. So keep your distance and quarantine me. Contain this dead reception of your frequency. Pull me from the wreckage. Get me out of this place. Our hope filled the horizon with what the night had sealed Gently fading in its silent revery. Our bodies moved like the ocean, dancing like a current as we swayed. Consuming and compulsive; convulse with our impulses. Stay calloused to the pictures; they remind us how we lived. And gave proof that our nights were thick with fists Sleeping to soundtracks of ringing ears. A difference in what they say between what's "legit" and what's accepted. A discreet belief in folded hands. Swing. Tough love for the heretics. Now please tell me. Where do we go? I'm in no condition to write this one, but compelled to bleed these words. I want your heart straight from the outset. We won't give up, we won't give in. They'll know we mean it when we say that we're moving. We'll give three cheers for sacrifice, tear August from our calendars, And watch September burn. We'll do what we can to keep the wolves in the hills, And keep there teeth from sinking right into our necks. Only the dead walk here. So as we soar towards revival, we want to be redeemed. Steadfast when we're wounded, or the indifference vaccine. How can you be so distant? We used to be so free. Cold to what once moved you. You used to dig so deep. And our prayer is that the night won't go. And we'll stay right here Forever. Only the dead walk here! Hypocrites and deceivers They wanna cure the believers. Only the dead walk here! Faith is contagious, and I'm runnin' a fever. Where are we going? Friends to depend on, Shoulders to descend on. Babe, you got my heart, but where are we going? I wanna feel the music cause it carried me to you And I feel a little closer to the angels on my roof. Singin' "Where are we going?"

With black eyes and heavy lips, Words torn with hate in steady rips, And they're worn away, now dull and cheap, In sealed envelopes and picture frames. We throw our clothes onto the floor. We black out, and we don't wanna black in, Til' morning. We'll keep our speaking slurred, Our talks cheap, So that we can avoid the cost, And I don't burden you with my words. We'll grow distant, cold shouldered. We'll wither and decay. I know the vast emptiness inside you that you just can't admit. As the world glues you together with cheap thrills and cheap tricks. I'll just lay here beside her. Trying to patch up my wounds. Our hearts and minds don't connect, But our bodies do. Wrap me around your fingers in this rapture of the flesh. The strings of this guitar are the strings of my heart. I'll keep that secret while I can. You take the high road, I'll take the low. I'm in the desert, and your in the snow. We numb ourselves so that we can remember to feel. Our stories written on our arms, beatin' time with our heels. First to crash, and only to burn. First to hurt, and later to learn. That love is just a shock and awe campaign We're lost poets playing a romantics game. So can you hear the sun come up? Cause I screamed your name at daybreak. And fists were clenched against your kiss. With words that bled on paper walls. We don't use words much anymore, Cause we've forgotten how to speak. My knees have seen it all before, Cause such wounds have made them weak. They are aquainted with the pavement, And they remember how to bleed. Keeping fingers crossed at all costs; We have forgotten how to breathe. I used to have my feet firmly planted in the ground, But you tore me from my roots And taught me to crawl. And, in crawling, I saw the world Upside down. We've only been making ripples It's time to make waves. Our tears were met with shallow breaths, They fought the fear at winters rest And stained the night of every swear, Like deathbed confessions in a cutthroats' prayer. What then would yield such violent dreams? Our secret shields from silent screams? Hold, fragile cage, this tameless heart That forever beats against a dead-poetic spark.
